Skincare Prep

To ensure the safest treatment and best results, please follow the preparation instructions below prior to your appointment.​

Skincare Products

• Stop all retinoids and Vitamin A products (Retinol, Retin-A, Tretinoin, Adapalene, etc.) 7–10 days before treatment.

• Discontinue chemical exfoliants such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, AHA/BHA products, benzoyl peroxide, and resurfacing treatments 4–5 days prior.

• Avoid all physical exfoliation (facial scrubs, cleansing brushes, exfoliating tools) 3–5 days before treatment.

Hair Removal

• Avoid waxing, threading, sugaring, dermaplaning, or chemical hair removal on the treatment area at least 7 days before your appointment.

​

Sun Exposure

• Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.

• Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily to protect the skin.

​

Other Treatments

• Avoid laser treatments, chemical peels, microneedling, or intense exfoliating treatments on the treatment area for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.

​

Health & Skin Conditions

• Inform your provider if you are pregnant, taking prescription acne medications, or have used Accutane within the past 6–12 months.

• Please notify us if you have active cold sores, infections, open wounds, sunburn, or irritation in the treatment area.

​

Day of Treatment

• Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, lotions, or heavy skincare products.

Eating & Hydration

• Eat a light meal at least 1.5–2 hours before your appointment.
• Stay well hydrated prior to treatment.
• Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine for 12–24 hours before treatment, as these may increase sensitivity.

Oral Hygiene

• Brush your teeth before your appointment and rinse your mouth thoroughly with water.
• Do not floss immediately before treatment, as flossing may irritate the gums and increase sensitivity.

Oral Care Products

• Avoid whitening products, strong mouthwashes, or peroxide-based oral treatments on the day of your appointment.

​

Health Considerations

• Please inform your provider if you have gum disease, mouth sores, cavities, dental sensitivity, or recent dental work.
• Whitening treatments cannot be performed if there are active oral infections or significant gum irritation.

Day of Treatment

• Arrive with clean teeth and lips free of lipstick, lip balm, or lip products.
• Avoid smoking or vaping immediately before your appointment.

Hair Removal

To ensure the safest treatment and best results, please follow the preparation instructions below prior to your appointment.​

Hair Removal Preparation

• Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment. The skin should be cleanly shaved with no visible hair above the surface.
• Do not wax, tweeze, thread, or use hair removal creams on the treatment area for at least 4 weeks prior, as the laser targets the hair follicle.

​

Sun Exposure

• Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
• Do not apply self-tanners or spray tans to the treatment area for 7–10 days prior.
• Use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily on exposed areas.

​

Skincare Products

• Stop retinoids, Vitamin A products, and chemical exfoliants (AHA/BHA) on the treatment area 3–5 days before treatment.
• Avoid harsh scrubs or physical exfoliation for 3–5 days prior.

​

Skin Health

• The treatment area must be free of irritation, open wounds, sunburn, rashes, or infections.
• Inform your provider if you are taking medications that increase photosensitivity or if you have used Accutane within the past 6–12 months.

​

Day of Treatment

• Arrive with clean skin free of lotions, oils, deodorant, makeup, or creams on the treatment area.
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing to avoid friction on the treated area after your session.
